Tour of Sydney and mystery visitors

We got a bit bored at home, so Sassy and I decided to visit a few spots in Sydney. Being a hot summer day we went to the iconic Bondi Beach to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the surfers.

Then we headed off to the city centre and visited the Apollo fountain at Hyde Park.

While we were there, it was just a short stroll to the Sydney foreshores where we could admire the 'coathanger', the affectionate nickname given to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Then it was time for a little picnic at the Botanic Gardens just adjacent to the famed Opera House. Look who have come to join us! They even brought more MOMO wine for us. Oh, oh! Look again and see who is just peeking around the corner.

Don't you just love how we clever furries can magically teleport ourselves all over the world!

PS. My cousin Charlotte is missing. Please purr and pray for her safe return.

Sassy visiting

Sassy's mom has abandoned her for a few days. Gone to look after grandbaby bean, it appears. So Sassy decided to teleport over to visit me. It's a sunny day and I decide to show her around my home. Here is the driveway; that yellow thing with the wheels is SS's car.

Then we retreat to the back garden to look at the flowers.

OK, SS, just when are you going to come home and serve us food? Please check your text message for the list of food required for dinner tonight - salmon, cavier, some ham and turkey rolls from the Gourmet Kitchen at Broadway would be fine.

Aftermath - A Tribute to ME?

I simply can't resist it! Having acquired such wonderful siblings and discovered a wine that is named after me, what is more natural than celebrate and celebrate on a warm, sunny afternoon. The Zoolatry succeeded in capturing the moment......

Do you want to know what the winemaker has to say about the "Momo" wine (MOMO Pinot Noir 2006, Marlborough, New Zealand)?
Here is a direct quote:

" Meaning ‘offspring’ in Maori, MOMO ........ [n]ow grown up with its own identity and personality, MOMO is youthful, urbane and well travelled, with an easy charm. Seriously stylish, MOMO loves good food and great conversation. Above all, MOMO is about enjoyment ........."

Now doesn't that just describe me, to a tee?

I'll drink to that!

Easy like Sunday

First of all, thanks to everycat for the well wishes for my new furry family and to Sassy, Asta, Momo dog and Pinot for agreeing to be my siblings. I love being part of a big family of sisters and a baby brother!

It is the iconic warm, sunny, summer Sydney Sunday afternoon. I am lazing in my favourite spots in my back garden with SS serving me cheese and milk and giving me soothing pats and scritches on demand. This is one pampered kitty life!

The covered outdoor BBQ is the best place to catch the sun as it stays sunny and warm all day.

When it gets too warm, I retreat to lie on the shady garden table on the covered porch. It's a great spot because it's just outside the kitchen window - I don't have to mieow too loudly for service. The milk comes in a bowl and gets placed beside me on the table. I don't even have to move and I can also keep a watch on the birdies and butterflies who come to visit.

The hand-painted parasol is a memento of the beach wedding of my bean cousin recently. I couldn't go to the ceremony so they kindly asked SS to bring this back for me. How nice! Thanks, Brad and Grace!!!

Impawtant annoucement

Hear, hear everybody - I am making a very impawtant announcement. That is:

Asta, Sassy and I are becoming sisfurs officially!
WELCOME, sissys!

Now, as most of you may know, Momo-dog and I have been sissys for a long while and by extension she and her cute baby brother Pinot are also in the family.

To celebrate this happy event, Asta's mommi has taken these sibling shots for us:

In return, Sassy has designed the following to be distributed to the moms and dads of the household concerned:

To celebrate this occasion Momo and Pinot's dad found this New Zealand wine, named Momo Pinot Noir, "momo" in Maori means offspring, how appropriate and auspicious! It is going to be our official family wine, to be used in toasting and consumed in celebrations.

Now, let's drink to that!
Sissys (and Bwuddew) Forever!
May our bonding be a long and happy one!

Please visit Sassy and join us in our celebrations!

Graduating from the Cheerleading Academy

That course at the Cheerleading Academy was intensive but fun. It was great learning the techniques and doing the gym work. Of course, there was a whole bunch of kitties (and Asta who really is an honorary kitty) and we had a ball.

Sassy has taken some photos of us. Here are a couple but there are more over at her site.

l-r: Karl, Ruis, Mystery, Daisy, Miss Peach, Sassy, Percy, Momo, Asta, Opus, & Roscoe

Here is Asta and me trying on our outfits for a rehearsal:

Then, of course, all of our friends from the class at the graduation:

Last, but not least, my certificate from the college which Sassy kindly forwarded to me because I had to leave by an earlier bus:

Thanks everybody, especially Sassy, for a great time at the academy!

National Feline League onward to the Super Bowl

All right, The Packers lost! But it was not without a great fight. Derby, Beau Beau, Sassy and I had fun cheering on the team and later drowned our sorrows in niptinis on the special green and gold Packers couch that Derby had specially commissioned.

The only kitty team left is the New England Patriots. We should all support Miss Peach, Darling Millie and Kaze who are the kitty players in the team.

Good luck to their unbleamished winning streak! They are THE GIANTSLAYERS!

Me? I have changed my cheerleader tunic (see side bar) and am starting to practice with Lucy from the Artsy Catsy for the big day. To this end, I am going to the Cheerleader Academy to attend classes with Sassy, so that we can be better prepared this time.

Thanks +++++ to the Zoolatry for the graphics and their generous support of the National Feline League!

GO, Patriots, GO!!!!!!!
Onward to win at the Super Bowl!!!!

Sunday 20 January 2008

Go, Packers, Go!!!!!

Big game coming up for the Green Bay Packers when they clash with the New York Giants on Sunday for a place in the Super Bowl.

As the official Cheerleader in the Nationa Feline League, I have been asked by Derby to cheer for the Packers. I am, of course, most pleased to do so since my friends Zippy, Sadie and Speedy are playing for them. And I LOVE cheese!

Therefore I have spruced myself up and donned the official cheerleader uniform for the occasion (see sidebar). It might interest some of you that the Packers have not had an official cheer squad since 1988 despite having a large fan base. Local college cheerleaders have lent their services whenever they played at home.

The other kitties at the Cat Blogosphere have also put their weight behind our quest for glory and contributed chants and slogans which I will be using in my routines. A promotion poster has also been made by the Zoolatry.

OK, here goes, ONE, TWO, THREE!

Green Bay, Green Bay, all the way.
Win this game...
This game today!
Win, Win, Win!!!
Today, today, today!!!!
Shaking pom poms!!

The Packers, the Packers...
They ain't no slackers.
Our furs play ball and
Give it their all! (by The Zoolatry)

Yay, yay, yay!!!! Jump! Kitty Kicks!!

How Funky is your Chicken?
How Loose is your Goose?
So come on all you Packers,
and Shake your Caboose! (by Daisy)

Shaking and showing my furry butt while doing the pompom routine.

It's cold!
We are freezing, we hope our opponents start sneezing
(by zippy, sadie and speedy)
Hiss, Hiss! Rah, rah, rah!!! Waving streamers!!!

Come everbody,
Let's cheer the Packers to victory!!!!!

Wallowing in fairyland

It's a cool, overcast day and rain is coming. No, I shall stay in and wallow in my fairyland a little longer and dream nice dreams while silly SS slaves away on her ceramics. Oh, when you have a minute, I would like some bacon and eggs with warm milk. Room service, of course!

A Fairy Tale

My NOMSS friend Charlie sent me the following story:

Once upon a time a girl was visited by her fairy godfather (that one's a long story, but suffice it to say he was indeed a fairy) and he said he was there to grant her most ardent desire.

The girl said, "I want to be a CAT!"

And the girl lived happily ever after and slept as long as she liked wherever she liked, drank whole bowls of milk, always had clean fur and servants/slaves to do her bidding and blogging, never had to hunt unless she wanted to, did whatever she wanted, never went hungry, got fat but didn't care, had many lovers, didn't worry about money, and had all the sardines and salmon to herself. She went out, never did anything she did not feel like doing, even when told, had very high self esteem, never cried or yelled, and felt and looked fabulous all the time.

Getting what you want out of life has everything to do with being a cat!
Can you see me there?

Summer Day

Nice summer day and I am lazing on my favourite spot in the back garden. Ah, I know, I must put on my sunglassess to protect my eyes! These were given to me by Karl and Ruis during my visit to Antarctica recently when we celebrated Miss Peach's birthday in a grand style.

After that, it's head scritchie time - that's it, you got it right on the spot! Just keep it going!!!! Umm..... 'VITA E BELLA' as Roscoe and Opus would say, that is, if they have got over the Colts's elimination!

While we are on the subject, Derby has asked me to barrack for the Green Bay Packers this Sunday in the playoff against the New York Giants. I have therefore donned the cheering squad uniform (see side bar) and started to practice my routine. Would welcome any suggestions on chants and slogans! Sassy????

Meme

I have been tagged by Tesla and those lovely kitties at 3catblog for seven (weird) facts about me. I have done a similar one not so long ago but I have such weird habits that I may as well tattle more on myself.

1. I do NOT like eating or drinking out of plastic containers. There is a funny smell to these things. I like glazed ceramic bowls, preferably porcelain.

2. I like changing my sleeping area every few days. That's why there are wicker baskets and boxes galore at my house. I don't return to the same box/basket/lounge after using it for a few days.

3. I do not like tap water. SS collects rainwater for me to drink.

4. I kill but do not eat mice, birds, insects or lizards. I like my food cooked and preferably marinated.

5. I like my food and milk at room temperature, not too cold or warm.

6. I come when I am called, at running pace.

7. I whap at any cat figures, whether it is ceramic, stuffed or wooden. I once whapped a whole lot of miniature kittens onto the floor and sat my big butt on their 5 x 5 inch wicker tray with pride. Silly SS already has me. Why would she want any of these little pretend kitties who can't purr, mieow or headbutt?

I know a lot of kitties have played this game already, so anycat who wants to join in the fun, consider yourself tagged :)

Life is Beautiful

Woke up on a beautiful Sunday morning to fine that I have a present as well as an award from my Canberra kitty pals Tigger, Trixie and Pyewacket. Just make my day! A BIG, BIG THANKYOU to the kitties and their lovely mom for doing this beautiful picture of Charlotte and me and for the award, the second in a week. What more can a kitty ask! Life is Beautiful!

Which leads me to posting about these missing kitties.

Please come home safely to your family! The street is no place for lovely kitties like these. I have been a stray and I know!

Our Space Adventure

Recently when Sassy and I were on a beach vacation in Florida we responded to an ad for recruitment into the NASA program. We were accepted and put through a vigorous training program to undertake in important repairs to a space shuttle. We were not in the full astronaut training program but were enrolled in the accelerated program called NASA Space Camp

As you all saw from all our posts, the training was demanding but Sassy and I did our utmost and at the end we were qualified to go into space for our mission.

So here we were in the shuttle and in action, using what we learnt at Purdue University and at the NASA base to help the crew in their mission.

All went well and the mission was completed successfully.

Please go over to Sassy for her account of our adventure and our post-mission celebration aboard a luxury liner in Antarctica where a tea party is hosted by Karl and Ruis for Miss Peach 15th Birthday.

You all must agree this is a very fitting 100th post!

Photo credits to Sassy, Opus and Roscoe (who you all thought were running the bulls in Spain but were actually supporting us at Florida some of the time). Thanks also to Karl for taking our photo in Antarctica and lending us his signature sunglasses to protect our kitty eyes from the snow glare.

An award dedication to Cat Blogosphere

Those wonderful, humourous kitties at TCR - Trixie and Pyewacket - have honoured me with this award.

I am so happy that I can come into contact with so many warm, beautiful and friendly kitties all over the world through Cat Blogosphere that I want to dedicate this award to it and in turn to all the kitties in it.

So a toast and paws up to Cat Blogosphere and all the kitties!!!!!! Hooray!

Thinking post

I have sneaked out and taken a little time off to post because Pearl, Bert and Jake have kindly awarded me this:

I am flattered an honoured to be the recipient. I must say I do like to think especially about important things like how to get my favourite treats of cheese and ham, how to get lazy SS up early to feed me breakfast in the weekend etc.

Here are the rules attached to this award:

1. You must write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think. (No fish or bird blogs, they'll just make you hungry)

2. Acknowledge this post.

3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.

4. Go tell your humans to fork over the treats!

I would like to pass this award onto:
Sassy, the CCSI producer who is currently having many kitties on a guessing contest
Eric and Flynn, those intelligent kitties from the UK
Diamond Emerald-Eyes for the many informative posts
Daisy for the insightful cartoons and tips
Asta for the beautiful nostalgic posts

Must get back to the base!

A short post

Just a very short post to touch base with all my friends. This course that Sassy and I are doing is very hard, so much to learn in such a short time! I am flat out and I can only fit in a short post in between physics lab time.

The Zoolatry kitties suggest that I should enlist SS to help with my studies but SS deals with clay chemistry and geology and can't really help a lot. Sassy and I are into something more high tech.

Some of you are doing well in the guessing game but I can't let on too much more.

Please go to Sassy's blog and follow our adventure.

A Mystery

As with most people and some kitties I have New Year resolutions. One of them is to keep fit and have fun at the same time; hence I become a cheerleader for the NFL.

The second is to improve myself. Sassy suggested that we should attend classes at the best university college to prepare ourselves, and sky is the limit! Since I am a kitty and have never been to school or have any formal education I started by reading, reading and more reading.

Then, Sassy and I enrolled ourselves into one of the top colleges to prepare ourselves for our chosen mission. We are starting classes soon. So I am heading over to join her. Since it is cold and snowing in Indiana, Sassy sent me some snow flakes to prepare me for the change.

Guess what course we are doing and what are we preparing ourselves for. I have already given some clues. For more clues head over to the blog of the CCSI producer, Sassy, and do some detective work. She will be giving a series of clues in her postings. I was told there would be a small prize to the first correct answer.

My bag is packed and I am heading off!
