This post is hijacked by SS but approved by me to pay tribute to an old friend, Pogo, the college cat who kept her company during the time she was in Oxford, UK.
Pogo was the cat of the head of the college but was generally adopted by the students and staff of Somerville College. He could be seen wandering around the grounds on sunny days and occupying the most comfortable couch in the Middle Common Room on overcast, wet and cold days.
He went around with that look that said 'nobody remembers to feed me' especially during term holiday time when there were fewer staff members around. This was eventually foiled when it transpired that he was fed by the majority of the graduate students who stayed back to continue their research. In fact, if you cared to look there were tinned cat food and treats in the kitchen of every single floor of the Margaret Fry building where the graduate students lived.
He tolerated cuddles and scritchies on his own terms and came and went out of the common rooms, corridors and kitchens at will. He once stayed in SS's bedroom for the better part of two days when the kitchen staff of the college was all out looking for him. He seemed to prefer the company of older graduate students than the young undergraduates who might have teased him in the past.
So, here is to Pogo, hope you are keeping well and SS thinks of you often.

Sounds like Pogo has a good life being spoiled by efurryone. He looks like a furry nice kitty.
I think Pogo lives a spoiled life :) That is so cool.I hope he is doing well too.
Pogo should have joined a faternity then at least he could get all the drinks he wanted!
Pogo is very special to me~!
Pogo must study very hard, hehehehe~!!!!
What a wonderful college have cats~!
Don't think Pogo studied at all despite being a college cat - he was too busy coning us into giving him food and treats.
Pogo had it made! I think I'll go prowl around on our local college campuses!
Rocky
What a beautiful cat! And he had it all figured out, I guess! Living the good live.
Looks like Pogo picked a good place to call home. I hope the tummy is kept full at all times and plenty scratches behind the ears on his/her terms only. We sure do look alike. I guess what makes most black cats look alike is there are no markings to make you look different. Only the color of the eyes might be different. I am parcel to black cats and I think this is one nice looking cat.
My sissy Momo.. this is a great tribute for this adorable Pogo. Seems like he enjoyed everyone's company and I am glad that he spent some time at SS's room. :)
Momo xoxo
Oh, he's a college educated cat. No wonder he knew how to work it.
Yep, you've got it, Zippy, Sadie and Speedy! That cat has been around the place longer than any of the students and probably many of the staff. No wonder he could manipulate all of us at will.
Pogo sounds like a very special cat! :) Great tribute to him. I hope he is doing well!
Thanks for introducing us to Pogo! He seems like a very wonderful cat.
Hey, are you sure that isn't Sassy? Hehehehe!
What a great cat! How nice that he kept your SS such good company while she was away at school. We hope he is well and keep the new students company as well.
Love,
Opus and Roscoe
Pogo looks like a wonderful kitty!
It sounds like Pogo had the whole staff outsmarted! He should probably have earned his degree by now. BTW: I did see you cat mummies, they were cool.
I am so sad I was visiting with Beau today and he isn't feeling too good. Thinking if we all could visit over there and let him know that he is in our thoughts and prayers this might make him feel better. Beau mentioned that he needed healing prayers. Thought you would want to know.
Pogo looks to be a philosophical cat. I bet he know the answer to the age ole question: If a cat meows in an empty kitchen will he get feed?

ph how adorable!! Pogo had the right idea - what a spoiled kitty!
Wowie, Pogo is a kool kitty! and he is so handsum. I'm sure he's furry sckolarly, bein a college cat and all!
Kittyhugs and purrs from MaoMao!
Pogo is a very handsome cat. I hope he continues to have such a fine life!
I cannot figure out bloggin????? I think I know enough just to get myself into trouble. I think your bed would be OK outside maybe we could scotch guard it???? Or you could find a porch with an overhang and that would keep it from getting wet. Watch out I bet some mice might try to sleep in their. But you know what, that would be their problem huh? Ha
Hi MoMo. It is nice to hear about another cat. He sounds like a very smart cat picking a place with lots of people to be friends with.
Pogo is cool! A black cat, so a'course we approves.

Hey Momo, I can't be here for long cause she is cross tonight cause of having dentist work today. But I have tagged you for the Box of Life Meme.
See you again soon when she doesn't have a very hurting mouth.
Lovely shiny black furs! What is Pogo's specialisation?
It took me DAYS to do my Meme becaue she is just BONE idle! It's all just excuses.
Painting the kitchen floor takes no time at all! Neither does setting up ten new students blogs.
She should put me first, not her sore tooth or her work for her students.
I've a good mind to keep the present I have ordered from the artsy catsy folk for her Christmas stocking.
Dear Momo,
I have finished the MEME you tagged me~!
Please come and see!
Adan
MoMo! SNOT fair! Why is she looking up THRASS sounds on Google and writing on the kid's homework blog and also on their daily doings blogs instead of sorting out my mice in their bowl?
The purple ones are mixed up with the grey and the red ones. *wail*
Bet you are sleeping after our long trip to Rome. It was fun trying to find Roscoe & Asta there couldn't figure out where they were.I had fun with you Opus and Momo doggie riding around in Opus's Ferrari. Sure couldn't find them but sure had a blast trying. We'll have to do something like that again.
What a neat story of Pogo. I wonder what he is doing right now. Thank you for visiting my site, Momo. You seem like a very nice kitty. I hope you come and visit me again.
Come on over, you must check things out. We have a new CCSI!!!!! It's set to air in December.
Hi my sissy Momo!! The Ferrari ride in Rome was fun, wasn't it?? :)

Your friend Karl
Stopping over to with ya a HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!!!! It is a human holiday in the USA where it gives permission to the folks to eat all day long. I am hoping that a piece of turkey falls on the floor today and I get it.
Wow, Pogo was a smart kitty! I showed this to Momma and she said that there should be kitties in the residence communities here at Cornell.
Your buddy, Jimmy Joe

MoMo! Another Friday shot to H###! Mom says Fridays ought to be banned. She has to do double work on Friday. 105 minutes of duty today. Then she had to do a major computing job for the school which took up all the rest of the day and after school and she has brought it home. SHe even made the principal watch her class for 45 minutes as she had to do some extra work.
So she reckons your message took one look at her, and ran off yelping!
Please resend. :)
Oh and now she is TICKED OFF because boys took her new BLACK LANCER and borrowed it! She is spitting chips and we are all hiding under the bed.
The Lancer came home, oh, and so did the boys.
So mom got over it. :)
God knows why she has so much work on Fridays. Remember how she missed your big Friday event? But - it's over now and there is a whole big weekend to website ourselves crazy in!
Hey Momo, is my big black rat under the bed? Can you have a look? We are not under it any more, we are all perched on the back of her chair watchin' Gilmore Girls.
I WANT MY RAT! *wail*
Hi MoMo, sorry for not coming around so much lately, my mom was very busy. I just didn't have a chance to get the computer an conme over for a visit. I hope it'll be better next week...
Hugs & kisses, Alex
Wishing you a belated Happy Thanksgiving. We celebrated here Italy, though the humans wouldn't share their turkey (cause of Opus's tummy troubles).
We are so thankful to have a friend like you!
Buona festa!
Love,
Opus and Roscoe
G'day! Pye here, well, I'm typing by remote control as I am on the cat scratcher that I made her move right up to the edge of the window. It looks silly with the curtains having to go around it.
I can almost pretend I'm outside you see, and I don't have the curtain in the way now as I look out the window. I'll get hot later, it's going to be 27 degrees.
Thanks for being sympathetic about Her car yesterday. She felt REALLY AWFUL as 5 teenage boys left in HER new (4 year old) car! It was pitiful watching her. She called her friend Sylvia and RANTED! She gave our oldest her 4 seater little Daihatsu when she got this car (to be kind as his sports car is in pieces on the garage floor) and they all didn't fit yesterday.
Oh, I left you a message over at the party site. :)
ps: Momo, I saw your question on my blog, and my Mommie got that outfit from Target! She does not know how to sew one bit. We also get some things from Wal-mart, E-bay, and many from Build-a-Bear!
Wow, Pogo stay in a BIG house?? Cool.
Oh, Im Benjamin. Momo, the cav's friend. I have a feline sis,Milky. But she doesnt like me and she always hiiss at me....mayb she need to consult you on how to get along with us....
Good onya MoMo! Fixed the time thingy. Ta!
We are having a quiet Sunday eating bacon and watching "A River Somewhere".
