As you may know, my SS is an archaeologist. However, besides having worked in Cambodia she has nothing in common with a certain celebrated character known as Lara Croft. Therefore, the picture below is purely in my imagination….
For starters, she doesn’t take me to the field. Secondly, she really digs, rather than gallivants glamorously around the countryside looking for ‘treasures’. Her treasures are broken bits of ceramics.
Actions? Yes, she has to climb across masonry in ruins, jump across stream, into ditches and trudge across deserts and jungles but never with a pistol strapped on her thigh or swing from trees. Sorry to say but this is the usual mundane action ….
Incidentally, this was taken in the moat outside the northern city wall of Angkor Thom. There you go, I wasn’t telling tales, she did work there!

Wow Momo, it's very cool that your SS is an Archaeologist, we didn't know that. I'm sure she's had such interesting adventures even if they weren't of the Lara Croft kind...(And thanks so much for your purrs and support, I'm back in business now and up to my usual tricks again!)

We thinks SS lives a very interesting life and gets to go to many interesting places even if her adventures aren't Lara Croft style.
Our youngest boy bean is majoring in history and has to have a minor. One of the minors he is considering is archaeology. He is also considering geography, geology, sociology, political science and anthropology. We are anxious to see which one he chooses. He goes for orientation at his university tomorrow.
Momo, we think that is a very very cool story.
Our mum wanted to be an archaeologist when she was little. She used to set up digs in the hallway with string, and bury 'dinosaur bones' for discovery.

I think being an archaeologist sounds like fun, even without all the Lara Kroft hoodoo. Although I prefer being an entomologist myself.

Momo I think that is better that Archaelogy is not the same as Lara Croft. Then you would always have to worry about her getting in trouble with dangerous forces.
Momo! Our Mumsy studied Archeology for a while. But we gots, well, she's gots a cousin that's an Anthropologist! He leads digs and writes books. He's at the University of Illinois at Urbana. Your Mum gets to do some really neat stuff!

SS sure does get around. She must be very patient and dedicated to go to distant lands and do such detail work.
How exciting! A real archaeologist. Vicki studied archaeology at Uni and has visited many sites in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Germany, France, England and more recently Peru. But she did these as a tourist not as a digger! Very impressive.

Your July sounds like our June. It was rainy and cold!! This is our Summer. Unlike the rest of Canada, we are now having temps in the low to mid 20's Celsius :/

Our mama has always wished she had been able to go to college and study to be an archeologist, but at the time it just wasn't possible....life dealt her other things. Now that it is finally possible, she knows that it isn't practical.
