Momo had been missing since last night and when found late this morning under the tree at the far end of the garden she was unwell. She is not eating, drinking and very lethargic. She is at the vet's now.
Update 1 - the vet took blood for urgent testing and place her on a drip. Just said that she was toxic. I shall call back for her this afternoon.
Update 2 - Momo is still not eating or drinking. She is staying in hospital and on IV fluids for tonight. The results of the test show "compromised" kidney and liver functions. The vet seems to think that she might have ingested some toxin(s). There are spiders about and toxic bite may be a possibility but there is no localising sign to support this but then again the entry spot needn't be obvious especially in a long haired kitty like Momo.
Update 3 - Momo is a little perkier but still weak this morning. She had a fretful night probably because of the unfamiliar surroundings. She mieowed pitifully on and off and worse when she saw me. She has drunk some fluids. If the tests this morning are stable or improved I am going to ask if I can look after her at home since our home is only 15 minutes away from the hospital.
Thankyou all very much for the purrs and good thoughts. I am sure that's what pulled her through.
Update 4 - The test results have stabilized but still not normal. The drip will be stopped later this afternoon. If Momo can keep down all the fluids and pass urine properly she can go home tonight and report back to the clinic for followup tests on Monday morning.
Yay!!!!!!! Momo is coming home tonight. I am picking her up soon. She will have to stay indoors and on a special diet for a while. She is alert but still quite weak. We will have to go back for a check on Monday, but at least she is coming home. There is no consensus as to what actually caused her to become so ill. Being an older kitty she may take a little longer to get better.

Thankyou all +++++ for purring and visiting me! I have been home for a day now and am resting contentedly and purring softly at the end of SS's bed. I am still a little weak and can't get around too much, certainly not well enough to want to go outdoors although SS has taken me out for some warm sun in the afternoon. I have eaten a bit of the special food and fluid that the vet gave me. I also have to take some medicine that I am not so keen on but I am happy to be feeling better, thanks to the positive thoughts from all of you in the furry world and from the animal lovers.
A big heartfelt thankyou to all of you who are purring for Momo and who have sent well wishes. They are very much appreciated. I am sure the good vibes have helped her through this difficult time. She will come visiting when she feels better to personally thankyou for all the support and kind thoughts during her struggle.
