CCSI Cast Party

As it is customary to give a cast party after a successful production the executives ponder over a glass of wine as to where it should be held...

Umm, who is that looking out of the window? Dr Tweety! He has such good hearing that at the whisper of food and party, he is the first to snoop out what is going on.

The decision is unanimous - we have such a good location why not have it right at the set. Bring on the food, drinks and balloons...

Even our friends at the Bridge come to join in the festivities...

Three Cheers

This is a tribute to my furriends Gandalf and Grayson's mom, Barb. She is one lovely and loving lady who is kind not only to her own kitties but also to other furries. We need more of her kind of people in this world.

Three Cheers to Barb!!!!!!

Please all head over to Sassy's for the most enjoyable thriller. I have just seen it and it is superb.
The very moving tribute to Skeeter that precedes the show brings tears to my eyes as I remember all those who went before us. One day we will be together again.

CCSI new production

Poster by Karl

CCSI V, The Old Famous Caper, is ready to roll, thanks to the hard work of the CCSI team, Skeeter's family and all the actors.

The show features new technology and is full of surprises. Definitely not one to be missed. I hope all kitties will support it because it is also a tribute to the late Skeeter - a posthumous production of his work, as it were. His dad and sisfurs have put a lot of effort into it both before and during the production.

For more information please head over to Sassy. Make sure you tune in on the premiere airing at Sassy's. See you all then!

Norwegian National Day

Today is the Norwegian Consititution Day, the National Day (Masjonaldgen) of Norway. Among Norwegians, the day is referred to simply as Syttende mai (meaning May Seventeenth). We Norwegian Forest Cats, Miss Kitty, Siena, Fin and I, would like to take the opportunity to salute our Motherland and welcome Theodor, a NF mancat-in-training, to our community. He lives in Stavager, a lovely city by the North Sea in Norway. He blogs both in Norwegian and English. Please drop by to say 'mieow'.

A noteworthy aspect of the Norwegian Constitution Day is its very non-military nature. All over Norway, children's parades form the central element of the celebration. Each elementary school district arranges its own parade with marching bands between schools. The parade takes the children through the community, often making stops at homes of senior citizens, war memorials, etc. The biggest parade is in Oslo, where over 100,000 people would travel to the city centre to participate in the festivities.

The poet Henrik Wergeland is credited with making Syttende mai a celebratory day for the children rather than a day of patriotic pride examplified by military parades, on the basis that children are the country’s future and prosperity should not be determined by military might.

Although the Constitution of Norway was signed at Eidsvoll on May 17 in the year 1814, the celebration of the day was not encouraged by the monarchy until much later since it was thought that the celebration was a kind of protest against the Swedish sovereignty. After 1864, the day became more established, and the first children's parade was launched in Christiania, in a parade consisting only of boys. This initiative was taken by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, although Wergeland organized the first known children's parade at Eidsvoll around 1820. It was only in 1899 that girls were allowed to join in the parade for the first time.

We NFCs of the catblogosphere make no discrimination. We encourage all to join in the celebration.

Cheers to Norway!!!

Cheers to the NFCs!!!!!

Getting ready for winter

The days are getting shorter and the there is a definite chill in the air. You can see that I am starting to get floofier as my winter coat begins to take shape......

For those who think that I am getting fat, I assure you that I am still only just under 4kgs. Here is a more realistic view of me relaxing in the late autumn sun...

For my gardening kitty furriends I have included this beautiful pot plant that SS's brother kindly gave us. These beautiful flowers lend some much-needed colour to our garden and the leaves provide convenient shade for me when required.
