Picnic at USYD

Welcome, Sissy-Momo, Sassy, Roscoe and Opus! Since we are a little early, Charlie and I are going to show you around a bit before picking up SS and Orable. Tigger, Trixie and Pyewacket may join us later if they can find their way to come. They have to come from Canberra which really is almost next door considering the distance all of you have to negotiate.

Here we are at the Clock Tower entrance to the Main Quad. The Quad is the oldest part of the university. It used to house lecture rooms, the old library, the Great Hall and rooms for the teaching staff. Now, the library has moved across the front lawn into the multi-storey building behind us. The Great Hall remains the place where Graduation ceremonies take place and the old library serves as a place for examinations and social functions. Many of the senior professors still have their offices here and so do the Vice Chancellor and the Arts Faculty. A number of the old lecture rooms are still here and all these have names such as the Latin room, the Greek room, the Oriental room, the History room, thePhilosophy room etc. Some of these lecture rooms have fixed wooden benches and can be quite uncomfortable. Now let's walk through the entrance into Quad:

The lilac flowering jacaranda tree is a famous landmark for generations of students. Whenever it flowers, it's time for the end-of-year exams! We have just come through that ivy covered entrance. Behind the tree is the eastern cloister, where students hang around waiting to go into lecture halls. To the right of the tree is entrance to the museum and the stairways to SS's professor's room; that's where she is now.

This is the view to the western and northern cloisters and the Maclaurin Hall:

Going through the entrance on your left, we arrive at the Nicholson Museum. This is one of the three museums on campus and it is the archaeological museum which houses the finds from the university's arcaheological digs as well as ancient artefacts donated by patrons and gifts from other museums and universities. Among these is a cat mummy. We can go in and have a look but they do not encourage photography:

Then, up these stairs is SS's professor's room and the Maclaurin Hall. We will go up and see if she is ready.

The gargoyle at the top of the stairs is a bit sleazy and its nose is slightly blackened from being rubbed by students. The Maclaurin Hall is quite big and many students have sat here for exams though the years. Ah, here she is! We can now go to collect Orable at the Post Graduate Arts Research Centre, located by the western portal of the Quad:

We are all set! Let's head for our picnic ground over at the Botany Lawn. Grab one of the colourful cushions thoughtfully brought along by Sassy and make ourselves comfortable!

Umm, let's see, there are treats for kitties and doggies, milk, cheese, cold meat and Canadian salmon being brought out....
Let's eat first before we head off for games in the Chancellor's garden

The garden is only small but all the flowers are in full bloom and there are plenty of trees to climb and bushes to play hide and seek. When we get tired, we can curl up and nap on the cushions or the small benches that are scattered around.........

Of course, there's the catnip that Charlie brought along. Don't know where he got it but we suspect he grows it in his secluded grounds.

What does Tigger, the F.B.I cat think? Are those kitties from Canberra here yet? Their mum is at work but if Tigger, Trixie and Pyewacket manage to teleport themselves over they should have no trouble finding us. C'mon, you can do it!

Ohhhh! See what Opus and Roscoe have brought! Thanks guys! Nom, nom, nom, nom!

See what Charlie's found in the garden..

Am I first? Fabulous spread, Momo! Just remember: no piddling on the inside, and any doo doos must be done behind the bushes!

Can't wait to see everyone!

-Charlie

Islay said...

Yum, yum. I hope I don't eat everything before the others arrive! I'll go and sniff some of these places - lots of interesting smells!

Islay said...

I see you've hidden the mouldy cheese behind the meat platter - what are we going to do with it?

Islay said...

Don't forget to have a sniff down Science Road - that's where the possums live, & they are bold enough to walk around in broad daylight! - maybe they wil play with us?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Eat it, of course. The rate we are going, we would eat everything up before the guests arrive.

Islay said...

going walkabout - be back in an hour or so!
-Charlie

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

You dogs can sniff out whatever that's down at Science Road. Come to think of it, since you can't climb trees, it is going to be unfair to you with hide and seek. We cats can get up to the roof and sit on the gargoyles, maybe even pretending we are one of them.

Sassy Kat said...

HI ALL, so good to see all of you. What a beautiful university. I don't know what to look at first. I am a little afraid that I will get lost because this is such a big space, please don't leave me. And look at the flowers, so good to see since the last three days I have looked at snow flurries outside. Burrrrrrrrr. I'll hold off on the food for now, I want to run and look around the campus somemore. Anyone want to come with me? I am afraid I will get lost. If I do we will meet at the clock tower on the hour OK?

Sassy Kat said...

Forgot to mention that Opus and Roscoe were not sure with the time difference when they would be able to be here but they do want to get here. It just depends on their mom, if you know what I mean. We can play, eat, & explore until they get here. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!!!

The boys came earlier but Charlie and I probably just missed them. Hope their mom stays up a little later and they promised to call back. Charlie has gone sniffing but you and I can wander around a bit. Yes, it's a big place and there is hardly anyone here to ask the way. The place is rather deserted because the students are studying hard for their exams.

Sassy Kat said...

Hey Charlie do you feel like chasing Momo and myself up a tree? We won't mind if you do.

Sassy Kat said...

Did the boys leave?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Hey, just noticed, Sassy, new profile picture! See, once you start posting the shyness just falls off.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Don't taunt Charlie! Hehehe, she can't climb like us kitties! We can go up and have a lot at those gargoyles on the wall. They look ferocious but they can't do anything; They are just stones and can't even spit out water like proper gargoyles. Yes, looks like the boys have left but look what they brought for us1

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Look, the sun is up! Let's spread out the blankets and cushions and laze around a bit. It's been raining these last few days and even early this morning. Good thing it fines up now for our picnic.

Islay said...

Hi you cool cats - nice pic, Sassy! I'm an old dog, so I don't do much chasing anymore, just watching you young animals having fun! I'll just sit here and guard the picnic basket!

Islay said...

Hey you cats, did you see my favourite fountain (across from Holme?) I think it is either Mephistopheles or Puck, I'm not sure which. Shall I go take a photo, Momo?

Zippy, Sadie, Speedy and M'Gee said...

Um, hi Momo...um, is anycat invited on dis advnchur? We want to see da cat mummy, if it's allowed. We promise to use decorum and not run thru da place like idjits. We is kinda in awe of dis place...

Islay said...

don't worry - no one notices idiocy around here...

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

OK, I'll try to sneak in a picture of the cat mummy while Charlie can take a picture of the Mephistopheles fountain. Any kitties can come. The place is so empty these days no one is going to notice several dozens of cats running around.

Wow what pretty trees and buildings and the food looks so pawtastic. What a part down under, wish we weren't up over. Weather is cooler in the Keys, in the 70s. Momo, Charlie is so lucky to have a friend like you.
Woofs and sniffs. - Essex & Deacon

Islay said...

Hi Momo-dog! Glad you could make it, come with me and we'll go sniff around & take a photo of the fountain - that's where some more little creatures like to hang out - maybe they will play with us?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Why is Momo-dog not here yet? Hope she hasn't got lost or fallen into the pond where the swans and cygnets are. These birdies are smart and I certainly would go after them.

Juno said...

Hi Hi... I just picked up my busket. I brought a bottle of sparking wine. It goes with smoked salmon! :)

I am now barkless. This university is so bootiful!!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Good, Sissy-Momo is here. Welcome, Essex and Deacon, you lovely collies! I saw you at Charlie's but never had chance to say 'hi'. Please feel free to sniff around with Charlie and Momo. Roscoe and Opus have been and gone. They are tired but may call back later.

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Here at last! Sorry we are a little late (human troubles). We are just happy to be here since it is almost 2am in Italy! Thank goodness the human got up and got the computer on for us!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Sassy has gone all quiet. Napping already? Must be all these partying! Please, everyone, look out for little Charlotte, she lives close by in Paddington and may come around.

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Hello to all of our friends! It is so nice to see you all here. What a beautiful campus and what a great day!

Thank you Momo for the tour. This place is just so neat and we are so happy to be here!

Could someone pass some kitty treats please?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

2 am and your humans turned on the 'puter for you. I am impressed! Welcome back! Do you want to rouse Sassy? She can't be sleeping all through this.......

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

We have liver treats and there is BBQ beef and real salmon from Canada!

Juno said...

Like my sissy Momo, I've seen you, Essex and Deacon on Charle's blog but this is the first time to see you in pawson! So HI!

HELLO Opus and Roscoe!!! Nice to see you guys again!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Thank you Momo for hosting this lovely picnic! What a great idea! Fall is in full swing in Italy. In our area of the boot that means one thing, FOG!

We have been lucky to have some sunshine this past week, but man is it cold! We have to snuggle close to the radiator at night just to keep warm and Opus seems to have a cold (he even had to go the v-e-t)!

Juno said...

Would you like wine, anyone? I have orange juice, too! :)

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Hi guys! Good to see you and so nice to be here. Maybe Sassy got lost on her walk. Should we go look for her at the clock tower?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Is that water from the Mephistopheles fountain drinkable? I would suggest that you doggies drink elsewhere. There are plenty of proper drinking fountains around at various heights.

Islay said...

Momo-dog, you've brought spirits - my owner would be so happy!

Hi Roscoe & Opus and all you cool cats! I found one creature on my little roam about and am sending it to Momo-cat now...so you can all see it

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Hope Opus feels better soon. The sun is shinning and it's not cold at all. Great weather for us today. If we make more noise, Sassy would hear us from the Clock Tower. Don't think anyone is playing the carillon today.

Sassy Kat said...

Charlie-Didnh't know that you couldn't chase, sorry. I did see the fountain, I didn't get too close as I don't like to get wet.

Sassy Kat said...

HI Zippy, Speedy & Sadie, great to see you all again. Let's run and play for awhile OK?

Islay said...

Hi Sassy, did you go for a wander? There are a few critters to chase around

Sassy Kat said...

Yeah, Momo the dog is here. He is one of my new doggie friends. Great to see you!!!!

Juno said...

Opus, hope you feel better soon. Toronto is getting colder and colder and heard it was 2C today.

I can't believe there are many foundains here and drinkable! SS and Orable come here everyday? Wow!!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

A birdie - I'll post it up pronto.

Sassy Kat said...

Hi Essex & Deacon I want to introduce myself to you. My name is Sassy, I am a friend of Momo the dog and Charlie. I see you are beautiful dogs same kind as Charlie.

Sassy Kat said...

OPUS & ROSCOE!!!!!! So glad you could make it. I know it is late for you guys, thanks to your mom. What a great mom you have. Let's so lay in the sun for awhile and get something to eat OK?

Juno said...

Sassy, I love your new photo! You look stunning!!!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

We are back! Lost our puter conncetion! Hmph! We had even posted a long comment about the wine, but it got losted! THE NERVE!

Hi to all again!
Sassy, you are back!

Sassy Kat said...

I am so sorry that I took a walk and time got away from me. I wasn't lost I just was enjoying the beautiful gardens, our gardens at home are all gone now because of the cold night at home. We have had frost & snow showers.

Did someone mention that Opus wasn't feeling well? What is wrong???? I am so worried.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

I have just posted the birdie that Charlie found. Everyone, please help yourself to the treats and cold meat! There are loads.

Sassy Kat said...

I am glad that Momo noticed my new picture, I had help getting it on my profile. I still don't know everything about the computer and need help. Someone saw my photo and had a not too nice thing to say about it. Makes me sad, I am what I am, I cannot be anything else. That is why you all rock you know me for me and like me for me. Wish all could be like that. Thanks all.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Sissy-Momo, you should log onto Sassy'site later and see her as Confucius - she really look the sage!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Sassy, don't let it upset you. I'm sure he/she didn't really mean it that way. I like house panthers; just have to be careful of superstitious beans though.

Sassy Kat said...

Yea,Charlie I was wondering for a long time, chased quite a number of things up that went running away from me, some got away some didn't.

Juno said...

Opus & Roscoe! A long post about wine is gone?? OH NO! Regardless what a long message got lost is very upsetting! I know that!

Let me check Sassy's blog!

Sassy Kat said...

Momo the dog, thanks for noticing my picture too. I am glad that you like it. I still don't think I take good pictures, I don't think I am a pretty cat but I am a happy cat!

Juno said...

Sassy, sorry to hear that someone hurt your feeling. That's really NOT nice at all!!

Juno said...

You're gorgeous, happy and smart kitty, Sassy!!

Sassy Kat said...

Momo tomorrow I will send you the comment and you can tell me what you think about it. Maybe my shyness is getting the best of me.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

What did you get? Lizards? There are plenty about. You can show off to Daisy and Gretchen if you do, they are fascinated by those thingies.

Sassy Kat said...

Opus and Roscoe are you sure instead of the computer being down and you writing about the wine maybe you were drinking the wine, ha, ha, ha. Just kidding you know.

Sassy Kat said...

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I so enjoy my close circle of friends!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

We don't think they meant to mean Sassy. We think they were trying to be funny. Don't be sad. We like your new photo better anyway. We can see your pretty face!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Yeah, OK, Sassy, don't be too upset though. I can't imagine anyone being so mean.

Juno said...

Sassy, I love your post. It's very funny!!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

I agree, this is a better photo anyway!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Don't worry about Opus. He is just trying to get attention. - Roscoe

What are you talking about???? If you think that having a thermometer shoved up your b**t and being forced to take breathing treatments TWICE a day is the kind of attention THIS cat wants then you are CRAZY!- Opus

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Me too, so true about the chips! SS can ever stop once she started but she doesn't buy them anymore so she wouldn't get tempted. Charlie used to have lots in her house. Chips, I mean, not cats.

Juno said...

Sassy, I am looking forward to tomorrow!!

More, cheese? Anybody?? Is Charlie around???

Sassy Kat said...

Were did Opus & Roscoe go? I think I'll go off to see if I can find them. Oh before I go I want to mention to Momo the dog that I just love the picture of her. Your pictures always put a smile on my face. I always feel happy when I see you. I am so glad that all of us are together. And Charlie, Essex & Deacon are most beautiful. For everyone else here that I didn't mention your names I enjoy being with you and like getting to know you better. Momo my first blog friend thanks for this wonderful get together.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Breathing treatment twice a day, that's a bit drastic! Have you got bronchitis? asthma? pneumonia?

Juno said...

My mom only buys chips on Friday! hahah... Once she opens the bag she won't stop and you know the size of our bag of chips? It's HUGE!

Sassy Kat said...

I'm leaving now to find Opus & Roscoe. I'll be back in a little bit. Is it all right if I take a few cold cuts along with me?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Do you like the cheese? It's not moldy, as Charlie was teasing me earlier. It's goat's cheese.

Sassy Kat said...

Ha, I just heard that Momo the dog has visited my blog. I think one day a week I will be Confusius. I like dressing up.

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Sassy we are here but will be leaving soon. We were told to tell you to have your human check HER email.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Where has SS gone to? Getting coffee from the cafe, I'll bet.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

So nice of you (Opus and Roscoe) to stay up so late for this little picnic. Thankyou for coming and hope Opus feel better soon. Can't be sick for the Sunday movie party. Still haven't come up with a Mafia name yet.

Islay said...

Hey, Opus, moping - I always get attention that way!

Sassy-cat, I can't believe anyone would say anything rude about your beautiful photo - I think you're pretty. It must have been a human because animals don't have the capacity to be rude, you know! But just remember what Piglet said:
"It's hard to be brave when you're such a small animal!"

Being small, I just pretend to be ferocious. It works with the pizza man!

Opus and Roscoe and Momo-dog and all you animals in the cold, it's a good thing you can have some respite in the summer air here; hope it is a good break for you!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

What is sissy-Momo doing? Would you like some coffee too?

Cat Naps in Italy said...

The vet isn't sure what is wrong with Opus. He looks fine, but snores a lot (even when he is awake). She said if the breathing treatment work, then it was just a cold or sinus problem (though his nose and throat look fine). If it doesn't work then she wants to put him to sleep so she can go in with a camera and see what is causing the noise.

Don't tell Opus, but I am so worried. I don't want anything bad to happen to my brother. We have NEVER spent a single day apart.

Sniff.

Sassy Kat said...

Hey I heard Opus & Roscoe over here so I came back. I did get into the computer room here on campus and all I have to say is what wonderful nephews you two are. Love you, Love you, Love you!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Ahhhhh! Why does blogger keep losing our comments? This is the third time we wrote only to have it "lost". Stupid connection.

Could someone please pour me another glass of wine?

Sassy Kat said...

Charlie you are so wise and I appreciate your kind words, that has given me a lot to think about. Thanks.

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Roscoe, what are YOU crying about? I am the one who gets shoved into the cage, covered with a towel and forced to breath nasty air!
Sniff!

-Opus

PS. Our pleasure Sassy!

Sassy Kat said...

I just heard about Opus sniffles, are you getting good care? Is your mom spoiling you, giving you your medicine, letting you get all the rubs and hugs that you need. Is Roscoe taking care of you too. I bet he is so upset that his brother isn't feeling well. Let's hope this nice warm weather here will help you feel better.

Juno said...

Oh Charlie, the summer air is excellent!!! I would love to have this year around.

Momo, you know I love cheese? Who doesn't?? Any type is fine, even moldy one is good to me!!! I think my mom just said 'yes please!' to your offer. (coffee!)

Islay said...

Hope everything's all right with you Opus. I have a recurring nose-issue, too, in my old age, and the vet wanted to do the same thing, but, with my being so old, my owner does not want to put me through it. She seems to think it is an allergic reaction to some plant or something because when we spend the day at the beach, it all clears up. Maybe your owner should take you on a holiday to Spain or Greece?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Snoring when you are not asleep sounds weird, hope the breathing treatment works then.

Sassy Kat said...

Breathing treatments! Thermometer up your #*<> OUCH!!! That's terrible!!!!!

Islay said...

I know when Momo is posting because, though my hearing is not so good, I can hear SS tapping the keys from across the room!

Juno said...

Opus & Rosco, I actually brought red wine, too. Do you like white, red or sparking while or red?? :)

I'll cross my paws for you, Opus!

Islay said...

I once knew a cat that snored all the time, even when he was awake. It was because he crawled into the dryer when he was a kitten and was not found until after it had been going. His name was Puffus - after Stay-puff fabric softener!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Mocha or just flat white. The coffee shop just across from the fountain is not bad. Yes, yes I know, there aren't too much competition but really it's not bad.

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Orable and Charley- We are really enjoying this warm weather and think it will do Opus some good.

Momo- Don't worry, we can help you come up with a name if you need. The first part in finding a good Mafia nickname is to think about your personality. What are you good at? Is there something speical about the way you look or act?

Is there any caviar left?

Sassy- I am being cared for very well by all in the house. Thank you for asking. You know, our human male snores and I don't see anyone shoving HIM into a cage!

Islay said...

Did you bring sparkling wine, too, Momo? Splendid! I like it when it tickles my whiskers!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

I think your mum would get on really well with Orable and SS would get on well with anyone who make cocktails and drinks liquor coffee

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Of course there's caviar left. What kitty picnic can go without caviar! Loads behind the cold meat tray.

Islay said...

I know about snoring humans - gee. Try sitting on his face; it will mute the noise somewhat, and the vibrations will be pleasant to go to sleep to. However, don't be too surprised if your human does not appreciate it; humans are so strange!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

In the dryer! OUCH!

Yes Charlie, I am an old cat as well so we hope this breathing treatment thing works. As far as Spain goes, it isn't much warmer there than it is in Italy. Greece on the other hand.....

We love ALL wine! Can you believe that a glass of table wine is cheaper than a glass of coke in Italy. Our human calls Coke "Vino Americano" (american wine)! Hehehehe!

And Sassy, it is all MUCH WORSE than it sounds!

Sassy Kat said...

Charlie that is a funny story about Puffus, though I am sure the cat didn't think so at the time. But the story sure is a funny one.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

My eyes are a little slanty. How about MoMo the Chinck?

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Roscoe sleeps on the female's face, but only when it is really cold.

I don't mind the snoring so much, but most of the time I am making the most noise! Hehehehe!

Humans are such strange creatures. What would they do without us?

Did Sassy and Momo the dog leave or are they just taking a nap?

Sassy Kat said...

I feel like playing hide and seek. I am going to hide and anyone at anytime can try to find me. If it takes awhile to find me I might snuggle down and catch a quick nap. I'm going on the count of three. One. . . . . . . Two. . . . . . .THREE!!!!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Wine (in moderation) is better for your health than coke.

Islay said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
Islay said...

...and cognac is even better!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

That is what the Italians say, Momo. But we ARE American cats! hehehehe! Whenever our male human (who is Italian) sips our female's coke (she is american) he always gulps it then says,

"Thez ess crrrrap" (rolling r's)! He is so funny!

Sassy you go and hide, Opus and I have to leave soon.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

All this talk about sitting on human face is giving SS the twitch, She thinks I'm gonna to do it. Saasy's probably gone to hide behind those Roman statues or in the huge Greek vase. Not sure who is on duty at the museum today. Better not be Michael!

Islay said...

This picnic is so much fun, and all of the parties! I think that we should all plan a holiday together - what would our humans think about that?

I overheard my owner and SS mention the sillk route in China, and how long it is - 2000 miles? - I'll be we could all do it in a day!

Islay said...

who's Michael?

Cat Naps in Italy said...

What do you think would happen if we unwrapped the mummy cat?

Those folks in Egypt sure know the value of a cat, I say!

Islay said...

where are you? I can smell you!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Well guys, it is almost 3am and our human just yelled at us to keep it down in here. We think it is time for us to go BACK to bed.

It was wonderful to see you all on this beautiful day. Everything here on campus is just perfect!

Thank you to Momo for hosting this picnic and for allowing us to tag along.

Juno said...

Oh Momo, you really spoil us. I've heard about Caviar but never had it until now. It's fabulous!!

Charlie, I have a few bottles of sharking wine. Feel free to have more. :)

Opus & Roscoe?? Seriously? A glass of wine is cheaper than a glass of coke?? What?? Did I hear right? My pawrents already started packing up. Well.. a glass of house wine usually cost $6 at least.. A coke, a doller here?? Sorry.. my pawrent are so excited to hear that difference.

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Glad you could make it. Sweet dreams!

Juno said...

Sassy... where are you hiding??

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Perhaps we should all take our parents to Italy for a holiday - a villa in Tuscany, anyone?

Juno said...

OMD, 3am?? Thank you for being here with us and we all had wonderful time with you. Sleep tight, ok???

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Yes Momo:-) it is true! Send your parents over right away. We aren't talking a great bottle of wine. We mean for the table wine or house wine. A half liter is maybe 3 euro but a GLASS of coke is around 3.50 on up! Our female has tried to learn to drink water when out (or wine).

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Michael is the museum director - he is not into animals except swans and only those on Greek vase handles

Juno said...

a villa in Tuscany??
Anytime, Momo sissy!!! I still cannot find Sassy!!!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Sassy, come out come our where ever you are! Olley Olley oxen free! What in the world does THAT mean anyway?

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

When Orable and SS finish their theses we should have a big booze up. At the moment sobriety is order of the day!

Cat Naps in Italy said...

Yes it is 3am in Italy and we are starting to feel the jet lag. Do you mind if we just curl up on a pillow for a while and snooze?

Thank you so much for having us. Good bye to anyone who leaves while are taking our nap.

Nite nite!

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Go look in the Geometric greek vase - it's big enough for anything. Surely the doggies can help out with locating a kitty.

Islay said...

Opus and Roscoe - glad you could make it; kudos to your human who let you on the computer so late; mine just rolls over and tells me to go back to bed! As if!

Momo-thanks for all the sparkling wine!

I'm hot on the trail of Sassy, using my razor-sharp doggie senses - ha ha!

Juno said...

Opus & Roscoe, I don't see my pawrents anymore.. I guess they're on the way to Italy.
'A half liter is 3 euro' already sound too good to be true to them!
Thanks again for sharing this picnic! I'll see you again soon!!

Islay said...

Momo-dog, I think your pawrents would love Berlin - anywhere on the continent, for that matter, when the Beaujolais comes out in the autumn. Only for a few weeks, and you can't really get it anywehere else because it doesn't ship well...Mmmmmm

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

Thanks everyone for coming! If you are tired, there are plenty of pillows and the shade under the trees. Just hope that Sassy can get out of whenever she is hiding herself.

Juno said...

Charlie!! I always enjoy your tour in Berlin. It's too bad that my mom didn't get off at Berlin station while she was traveling from Wuppertal (near Koln) to Hall(near Leipzig). How silly is that??

My sissy Momo... I think I need to take a quick, a very quick rest under the tree to feel this nice summer air. BUT I'll join you for sure.

Hope Sassy is doing ok wherever she's hiding!!

Islay said...

It has been great fun having a picnic with you all - Momos, Sassy, Opus, Roscoe, Zippy, Sadie, Speedy, Essex, Deacon and all of you furry friends!

I'm just going to lie down in this sunny spot for a nap...

Angel MoMo and Charlotte said...

That's the way - the grand southern tradition of siesta!

Sassy Kat said...

Tip toeing in because everyone is asleep.
Whispering Everyone is taking a nap. No wonder no one found me. I almost thought everyone had left without me, I was afraid.

Hi Momo - I found that you put a link to your blog under my nomss friend challenge - but I can not figure out who your nomss friend is???
Let me know who you took as a nomss friend - or, if you didn't accept this challenge, let me know too, so I can remove your link there....
Thanks, Karl

AARRGGHH! The batteries went flat for the teleporter! She didn't buy new ones before she went to work!
Our Mom didn't draw breath until 6.05 this evening! We are NOT SPEAKING to her!
Marking Maths tests, doing three playground duties, sorting out school problems, writing reports after school and attending assemby are NOT a valid excuse in our opinion.
Is there anything left to eat? Is it raining there like it is here?
*sniff* *sob* *howl*
From the sad pussycats at topcatrules and Tigger the FBI cat.
We are all sitting with our backs to her, sobbing quietly.

What the heck? Did we sleep through the rest of the party? Has everyone gone home? -Opus

Oh well, at least we didn't end up in a bathtub! Let's get back to Italy. The humans will be up soon and they will be wondering where we are.- Opus
