Thursday Gardening

It's been rather wet lately and the garden smells nice after the rain....

The hibiscus tree by the garage is blooming....

And our lovely neighbour gave us this.....

Does anycat know what it's called? I don't think it is a flowing plant but the leaves have gorgeous colours. We plan to keep it indoors in a sunny spot.

All combine to give some colour to an otherwise lack lustre garden. Yes, my lazy SS has been neglecting the garden and we have much fewer blooms this year despite the increased rain.

The plant looks like a Coleus and is grown for it's foliage rather than it's flowers.
We have had it dry for a week now. We are very glad because it has rained much too much.

You have a beautiful garden to relax in.

The hibiscus is huge and so purrty. We were very happy to see it blooming, we misses ours.

We thinks we has a plant like your neighbor gave you. Ours eventually had spiky blue blooms. We can't remember it's name though and now we cant find it on the Internets. We thinks Iza & Ayla had some like it to. Maybe they know its name.

It looks like a lovely plant. I think if it is a coleus they like a bit of shade! Enjoy your garden.

Jonesie thinks it is a coleus. It's one of the few plants mom successfully grew indoors before us kitties came along and destroyed any and all indoor plants.

Glad to see you out in the garden MoMo!

Jan's mother used to grow those plants and she couldn't remember what they are called till she saw the comments. Yes, it does look like a coleus.

This shows our lack of gardening cat potential- we thought the leaves were painted! Hahaha!

It's so nice to see everything green and blooming in your garden! Everything in our garden is brown and ugly right now. We think that plant looks like a type of coleus. Sometimes they might get spiky flowers but mostly just pretty colored leaves.

Yes, it's a coleus--or certainly looks like one!

We think you have a lovely garden, even with fewer blooms. (We'd never know that!)

Ahh, what a beautiful garden you have there! We think the plant looks like a Coleus, but we have never seen one with those markings. They usually prefer to grow in the shade, and are grown for their foliage, although sometimes they get little flowers.

We like your garden MoMo - it is better than ours, that is for sure! We think that the plant is very pretty - we didn't know what it was (but we saw others post about it) but we think it is nice that your neighbor gave it to you!

You are so beautiful sniffing the air after the rain, BSIF! The little plant must be a Coleus. They do bloom, but some people pinch out the buds because they are mainly grown for their leaf interest. That's a pretty specimen and a really nice pot!

We agree with Eric and Flynn. Moma says the plant is a Koh Lee Us, and she thinks the foliage leaves are sooo pretty.

We are so behind. Please furgive us.
